On October 21, 2024, at 02:40 UTC, we identified intermittent network communication errors across multiple services. This issue affected the following regions: Anaplan Data Center - US East, Anaplan Data Center - US West, Anaplan Data Center — Germany, Anaplan Data Center — Netherlands, Anaplan Google Cloud Public - US East, Anaplan Google Cloud Public — Japan, Anaplan Amazon Cloud Public — Europe, and Anaplan Amazon Cloud Public US.
During the incident, customers experienced login failures on their first attempt. Customers could log in successfully upon refreshing the page.
During our investigation of the errors, we discovered that an internal service was experiencing performance issues. Analysis of these issues identified that there was contention within an underlying resource that was affecting a subcomponent of the affected service. We moved the affected subcomponent to a different resource pool. The issue was fully resolved at 04:46 UTC.
To prevent this from reoccurring, we are adjusting the resource requirements for the service. Alongside this, we are reviewing the configuration of the underlying resource to improve how services use it.
We sincerely apologize for the impact this has had on your business operations. We know these issues can cause trouble for your business and users. We are always improving our systems and procedures to prevent similar issues from happening again.
