On November 17th, Anaplan experienced a service disruption that resulted in users experiencing intermittent issues accessing models and running integrations. Our engineers responded quickly to alerts and swiftly categorized the criticality of the incident. We identified a large number of hanging API requests, causing performance bottlenecks to subsequent requests. We were able to very quickly identify the source of the hanging requests, and restarted the required service. Once the service was restarted, all requests were successfully processed.
We have identified the cause of the hanging requests was due to a process on the server causing it to running out of memory, and we are pursuing the implementation of better checks to automatically resolve issues related to services running out of memory.
